ABOUT THE ARTIST

I am a multi-disciplinary artist living and working in St Petersburg, FL. Whether I'm melting colorful wax for encaustics or toiling under safelights in my darkroom, similar themes tend to emerge in my work, sometimes unknown, even to me, until I stand back and observe. I am drawn to concepts of nostalgia, inner demons, and mental health.

I've participated in a number of gallery shows and festivals, including shows in Florida, New York, Seattle, Arizona.

My work has been published in three anthologies of art, published
by Out Of Step Books. (Black & White, vol 1, scratchboard; Feathers
of Inspiration, digital art; Meows & Roars, watercolor & digital).

An 8-pg spread of my work, and an extensive interview, were published in Emboss Magazine (Oct 2016, scratchboard).

I am honored to be a recipient of the 2017 Impact Returns Grant from
Creative Pinellas, which culminated in a wonderful show at the
Gulf Coast Museum (scratchboard).

My work was published in Studio Visit Magazine (Summer 2018, scratchboard).

A 4-page spread of my work, and an interview, will be published in an upcoming issue of Black & White Magazine (Dec 2019, photography).

I am a member of International Society of Scratchboard Artists and American Women Artists.

Surrounded by an endless supply of pens, papers, paints, fabrics and clays, I grew up in the Florida Keys and was taught proper wheel-throwing techniques before mastering my shoe laces.

I find beauty dreadfully boring.
